Predicated upon both Cardano's eminent intellect and astute observations, the following persons merit an IQ rating of 175+

Ptolemy
Aristotle
Euclid
Duns Scotus
Swineshead
Apollonius
Archytas
Eutocios
al Khwarizmi (Father of Algebra)
al Kindi (First Arab Philosopher, Father of Cryptography)
Heber Hispanus (Jabir ibn Aflah)
Galen
Vitruvius

So far I can only get access to the following quote:
“Yet he named, as the ten greatest intellects in history, men not overwhelmingly Christian: Archimedes, Aristotle, Euclid, Apollonius of Perga, Archytas of Tarentum, al Khwarizmi, al-Kindi, Geber, Duns Scotus, and Richard Swineshead, all …”
— Will Durant (year), The Complete Story of Our Civilization (pg. #)
Can you type the rest of the quote for us, and year, and page #?

Also, I took you out of the new user category, so that you should now be able to post without approval (for post to be seen).

Ptolemy | IQ:175|#241
Aristotle | IQ:195|#9
Euclid | IQ:185|#54
Duns Scotus | IQ:150|#893

Swineshead
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Richard_Swineshead
“The great mathematician Gerolamo Cardano include Swineshead among the twelve greatest thinkers of all time.”
— George Sarton (1975), Introduction to the History of Science (pg. 738)
Curious that Swineshead is cited by Robert Burton:
https://eoht.info/page/Robert%20Burton

Apollonius | IQ:170|#385

Archytas (Allen 100:52) | Teacher of Eudoxus
Eutocios [?]

al Khwarizmi | IQ:170|#526
al Kindi | IQ:160|#763

Heber Hispanus (Jabir ibn Aflah)
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jabir_ibn_Aflah

Note: this is the main Geber:
https://eoht.info/page/Geber

Galen | IQ:170|#474
Vitruvius | IQ:165|#557

Duns Scotus probably needs to go higher; but I have a hard time figuring him out? His name is always popping up, but I can't figure out why?

“Swineshead’s intellect was ‘beyond the measure’ of human ingenuity’.
— Julius Caesar Scaliger (c.1540), Publication; cited by Reijer Hooykaas (1976) in Fact, Faith, and Fiction in the Development of Science (pg. 138)
According to Hooykaas, Cardano ordered his 12-person ranking as follows:

1. Archimedes
2. Aristotle
3. Swineshead
4. Euclid

Will have to find original source, and get correct order?

I found this so far:
“The key scientists are: Archimedes, Ptolemy, Aristotle, Euclid, Scotus, Swineshead, Apollonius, Archytas, Eutocios, al Khwarizmi al Kindi, Heber Hispanus, Galen, and Vitruvius.”
— Gerolamo Cardano (1550), De Subtilitate (§16: De Scientiss)
Added here:

Not sure about the exact translation, as I can't find the exact Latin passage.

I did find he is referring to this Eutocius (who seems to be new to me):

Aside from Cardano's credible assessment, further impetus to increase al-Khwarizmi's approximated IQ to 175, is his position in the rankings of history's eminent mathematicians (besting many whom are currently ranked higher than him on the Hmolpedia 2000):

Further claim to increase the appraisal for Al Kindi's IQ to 175.

Yes, I’ll process those considerations. Presently, my mind is a little over-processed, with the migration in process (to make any adjustments); with the list now at about 1,100 geniuses. Migrating the IQ tables over to the new wiki is a bit of an absorbing process.

In the last few hours, to note, I modified all the tables, so that there is an IQR (real), IQE (estimates) separate; so that in the “full list” (of 1,100 names), now, you can see the # and IQR in the first two columns (which is helpful):
https://hmolpedia.com/page/Top_2000_minds_(full_list)

Same for candidates page:
https://hmolpedia.com/page/Top_2000_candidates

What is your estimate of the IQs of each of the 12 Cardano geniuses?

Off the top of my head, Kindi was probably smarter than Khwarizmi, generally speaking?
https://eoht.info/page/Al-Kindi

Khwarizmi is cited 12 times in Hmolpedia 2020, but I have not yet written an article on him.
Anyway, out of time, for now.

The tremendous amount of time and energy that you have labored with this site (and its predecessors) does not go unnoticed!

I can't speak with regards to the individual IQ's as I am not acquainted with many of their works, but I will say that for Cardano to make such a bold assertion it is likely that he viewed these individuals as equal or greater to himself (IQ 175).
